Hello, I recently got a graphics card and I would assume that it would make my computer run faster but it's caused more problems. I get lag spikes in every game it's very annoying to play. I don't know if I should get another part or another PC.

Also, my computer randomly freezes for 3-7 minutes and crashes everything. It might be related to the graphics card because the error says NVidia graphics has stopped working and recovered.

Here are my specs -

Windows 7 Professional 64 bit (OS)
Intel Core Duo 2 E8500 @ 3.16Ghz, usually runs around 48-58 degrees Celsius (CPU)
16 GB Dual channel DDR3 @ 532 MHz (RAM
Dell Inc. 0C27VV (Motherboard)
S22E310 @ 60hz and main monitor Asus VG248Qe @ 144hz (Monitors)
2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 730 EVGA (Graphics)
931GB Western Digital WDC WD1002FBYS-05A6B0 ATO Device SATA (Storage)

Please. I just want a computer with no lag. I don't have much money, please. Thanks for any help.

What games?

That is a VERY low end system for gaming, and I mean below entry level really. The 730 isn't a gaming GPU and the CPU is very outdated in 2017.

However, very basic games should be fine - so what are you having trouble with?

EDIT: We have all been there, I went for years using a Radeon 9200 (awful) and had to suffer. However, your best bet is to sell it to someone who wants a decent desktop for general use, then invest in a proper gaming rig for the level of game/budget you wantr.

---------------
I just play simple games like Minecraft, Geometry Dash, and CS:GO for fun with friends. I use a PS4 for more advanced games though. Also, any recommendations for a build around $500? (I'll probably sell the desktop now that you suggest it.)
