can i make the playstation 2 widescreen using an asus computer monitor

im using rca to hdmi adapters to play the ps2 on my screen

As far as I'm aware you need to have the appropriate connectors for the PS2 for it to register the option for widescreen in the main menu. Otherwise you need to have a game that had a widescreen option in settings and the ability to change screen format on the display to stretch it
