trouble install drivers especilly network

having problems with driver installs usually network ones

they just sit on the install page for ages then return an error message commonly about the driver timing out


anyone have any ideas

system is a custom built
i5 4670k
16Gb ram
msi z87 g43 gaming
gtx 980 gpu
this is obviously a new issue first found it trying to install a vpn driver

You may have User Account Control preventing installation. Go to user account control and change it to lowest setting. Also disable Antivirus when installing.

tried them both same result installation times out
also tried to install in safe mode and with driver signature verification disabled

Is your network working? If so- it uses Windows drivers- you may leave it alone unless it disconnects. You are on Vista, are you sure you got the right drivers?

I'm not on vista I'm running Windows 10 64bit

And I'm running on wireless I can't install the Ethernet driver or the open VPN driver
Possibly others but not tired Anything else latley

Look at your Device Manager and see if there any question marks still next to your Lan. If there is, click on it, and do the "Uninstall Driver: thing, or update driver from there. When prompted point it to the location where you downloaded and unzipped driver is located.

The driver's are not currently installed removed them ages ago install still times out
