I've been reading a lot about HDR gaming monitors. Has anyone seen a game optimized for HDR running? What did you think of it?

Solution
HDR can mean a lot of things as there is no official standard for it and there are several versions of it. Generally however it is hardware related (starting with a 10-bit color spectrum panel). There are monitor makers that are using some type of software to imitate HDR when it's really not HDR.

There are no games coded to take advantage of HDR and it will be many years before they ever do once a standard is established. Think about it like the days of Sony's Blu-Ray vs. Toshiba's HD-DVD formats. Eventually only one will win out.

Actually there are 2 standards to HDR, one is HDR10 and the other Dolby Vision. HDR10 is the open standard and Dolby is not yet all Dolby Vision certified monitors/TVs are . So far there are not a lot of monitors that are truly HDR because they can not produce the 1000 nits of brightness. So far no games use the HDR standard BUT there are a few coming out that are taking advantage of HDR.

There's also HDR10+, Advanced HDR, and HLG. Different manufacturers are supporting different versions. Eventually only one will win out as an official standard. When games are specifically coded to take advantage of HDR instead of being "enhanced" to do so is a ways away.
