Hey, sorry if my grammar is bad im 14.

So i got a pretty powerful laptop with a gtx1060 and a 60hz monitor, i got it about a year ago, and iv been overclocking my screen to 67hz for a long time and i know that theirs a consiquence to that, now my screen is VERY teariy (meaning the screen tearing is really unplayable) so im getting a 144hz monitor in a week, i asked my mom to buy it with a (Dvi-D active to Mini Dp) my laptop does not have a display port it only has a mini dp, so my question is that will every thing go fine if i buy that cable, and please dont ask my if my computer can run the game at 144fps, it actualy runs the game at 800fps so i got no problem on that. So please let me know if theres any problem or some different cable i need to get.
Ty for you're time.
by the way this is the cable/adapter im gonna get (its not the exact but its gonna be something like that) https://www.startech.com/ca/AV/Displayport-Converters/Mini-DisplayPort-to-DVI-Dual-Link-Active-Adapter-USB-Powered~MDP2DVID will this cable be able to do the 144hz no problem?

Solution
Not all 144Hz monitors have displayport. Using displayport is the best option to do what you want. That cable should work. Dp to dual link dvi adapters are spendy and dont always work.

are you sure if i buy one of thoes cables that its gonna work properly at 144hz? and you're talking about a cable that looks like this right?
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Mini-DisplayPort-Cable-Feet/dp/B013PWQPFS And btw, since its my mom that's gonna buy the monitor and she's in vacation right now and im not with her, do most 144hz monitors have a display port output?

Okay, i'm gonna tell her to find a 144hz monitor with a display port output. And to buy a display port to mini DP cable. Thank you, for you're time!!
