I used to take the time to turn it off to save memory and prevent indexing that I did not care about. Now, I just don't bother because it really was just not a significant change in my system. Each time you change settings from defaults the more little problems tend to pop up over time. at some point my system was updated and the indexing was turned back on and I just never noticed until I looked again. I am just going to leave it on.
