Not sure if my build is working at its maximum capability because of component choice.

Hi guys, I have a PC build that I have tweaked and upgraded through last three/four years and it seems to me that components might not be working as well together as they should or some of them might be upgraded to make a whole build a little better.
List of my components:
GPU:MSI Nvidia Gtx 960 4GB
CPU: Intel Core i5 4690K Processor (3.5 GHz, 6 MB Cache, LGA1150 Socket)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Air Cooler
Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 5 Intel LGA1150 Z97 ATX Motherboard
Memory: G.Skill RipjawsX F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL 8GB 1866MHz
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB 2.5 inch Solid State Drive - Black
Storage: WD Blue 1TB Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6 Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch
PSU: Cooler Master B500 ver 2 PSU 'Non-Modular, 80 Plus White, 500W' RS500-ACABB1-UK
Case: Fractal Design Define R5 Black ATX Midtower Silent PC Computer Case
Cooling: Corsair Air Series AF120-LED Quiet Edition High Airflow LED Fan, 120 mm - Red, Dual Pack
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1
Wireless: TP-LINK TL-WN822N 300 Mbps High Gain Wireless N USB Adapter, Version 4 - White
What do you think can be improved or NEEDS improvement for a build to work together better as a whole ?
Thanks !

Is that a 1x8gb ram config? If so, going 2x8gb can be beneficial.
That i5 is still good for 60hz gaming. If you want more cpu power, consider a 4790k.
That 960 is also only suitable for 1080p 60hz gaming. A 1060 is a good card for 60hz and 1070 for 144hz.
The psu needs replacing. Look for the seasonic g 550 for 55 bucks.

aye , sorry , it's 2x4gb, would mhz matter though ?
Would that PSU still be viable if I decide to upgrade and go for 10 series geforce or i7 ?
By the way , thanks a lot Lucky

1866mhz is like a bit above avg I think in ddr3 standards. U r good there.
If ur rig is a locked one with non k i7 and a 1070, it may be OK. Since its overclockable, I wouldn't recommend that psu.
The psu is the only sub par component that I see in ur rig.
8gb ram is just enough to run games. Wouldn't advice you to keep other apps in background or switching between apps if you are running the latest AAA games.
