Backup compatibility from Win7 to Win7 after failure

Hi all,

It seems my windows 7 has become corrupt beyond repair. At this stage I'm happy to wipe it and upgrade to windows 10 from scratch.

I'm aware there are some applications that won't run on windows 10 but I all I need is the be able to access the files that have been saved in the backup.

Will this be possible given that I'll be trying to access them from Win10?

Files yes.
Applications would need to be reinstalled with whatever OS you install. Win 7 again, or Win 10.

And I've found exactly zero applications that ran under 7 and don't run under 10. Of all the ones I use, anyway.

@USAFRet Great thanks for your help.

I had some fairly specialised software (manufacturing) which caused the free win 10 upgrade to fail. I'll just reinstall them, that's fine.
