Bootmgr missing i can start it from external ssd

Okay, so i sold my old computer to my friend and i wanted to give him the harddrive that followed with it, i had it in my main desktop and i wanted to clear it for him it had windows on it but i had windows on my main ssd but when i tried to start my pc today bootmgr was missing i never had this problem before ? i can boot with my laptops ssd ??? what to do ? btw i still has the hardrive in it but without any files

Did this old hdd ever have windows on it? It would seem that when you installed win 10 on the ssd, the hdd was in the PC? If that is case, its likely win 10 put your boot sector on the hdd, and not ssd. It likes doing that if it finds blank space it can use.

I found out the problem, i sat the priority at the old hdd when i tried to format it :/ haha im stupid...
