Realtek HD driver installed but can't access control panel

After the latest windows update I noticed that something was messed up with the sound drivers, I went ahead and made sure there is no trace of the previously installed driver, and then I proceeded to download the latest driver and install it. After finishing installation I noticed that the audio manager GUI does not show up in the tray, and while the sound drivers seem to be alright I can't access the audio manager. I found the installation folder and located the executable that should launch the audio manager GUI, with no success, double clicking it does not seem to do anything.

which version of the drivers do you have? If its 2.82, there is a newer driver and the link below shows someone with similar problem using 2.82
