Problem with a friends pc

My friend has a problem with his computer. First of all it freezes a lot, but after he took it for repair, it is still freezing. Not as often, but it still does. Also he has his computer hooked up to the internet via ethernet and its going really slowly, like it took 7 minutes to load up a 4 minute vid. It doesnt always do this, if it runs normally then its really fast, but it often lags like that. Thanks, in advance.

P.S. his specs that i know of are:
cpu: amd fx 8320e
ram: 4gb
gpu: amd radeon hd 5450

Get him to check motherboard drivers on the web site for the board, old drivers might cause freezing

Get him to run memtest86 on his ram, it makes a bootable USB so you could make it for him. One stick at a time, any errors are too many. Only score he wants is 0. Remove any sticks that show errors.

Knowing what motherboard and Power Supply he has might help too.
