Screen Tearing with Vsync Enabled in Game

Anyone know why I would be getting screen tearing in certain games with Vsync enabled? I am using an external monitor (acer gn246hl) powered by the asus gl552vw dh-71 gaming laptop. Any input would be appreciated.

I think it may be happening in all games, it is just more noticeable in certain ones. It is most noticeable in Rocket League. Some days the tearing is worse than others, which I find kind of odd.
