Should I use my Hyper 212 EVO from 2013 on a Ryzen 5 1600?

I was thinking of buying the AM4 bracket and keep using the Hyper 212 EVO that I bought in 2013. I've been using it with the FX-6300 for nearly every day since then without overclocking. 25C-30C right now, 18C-25C during the winter.

I don't mind buying a similar air cooler and I plan on overclocking the Ryzen 5 1600, but could I just keep using it?

Also, is it wise to use the thermal paste that came with the air cooler? I haven't opened it since 2013. Is there a way to test if it's still ok?

If it's soft it's still OK.
Their nothing to hurt or not work on a 212 the only thing that can go bad is the fan and it can be replaced fairly cheap.
