video card and monitor question

Solution
Depends on what you want to do. For a lot of things (web browsing, document editing, video editing, etc.) having the additional real estate in terms of pixels is nice. If a particular game does not perform to your liking, you can always choose to run that particular game at 1080p. One thing I will say is that with 1440p on a 24" monitor, text may look a bit small sometimes. I personally find 1440p more comfortable with something like a 27" monitor.
