Windows 10 Media Creation Tool wiping everything from my pc

I need to wipe eveything from my pc including my OS. I was wondering if I could use Windows 10 Media Creation Tool to move a copy of my OS to a USB, wipe my pc then upload the OS back onto the pc. If I wipe the pc and try to put the OS back on will the pc regognize it or will I have to buy a new OS?

The MCT will download an ISO image of either Home or Pro, x86 or x64 and any combination, that it can then deploy to a USB for you to do an upgrade or clean install from. It will use the existing key registered with Microsoft or embedded in the BIOS by an OEM to activate.
