Is the ASUS H110M-A/M.2 Socket LGA 1151 mATX Motherboard compatible with the i5-7400?

I think it is, but people say you would need to do a bios update with a different cpu, and others say you dont, please answer.
I am trying to build a PC with those two components.

Are there any better options? Im building a mini atx build so that would be helpful

And is the ASRock H110M-ITX/ac LGA 1151 a better option, or the ASRock B250M-Pro4 Motherboard

The board needs a BIOS update, if older BIOS present.
As an option, you can order a BIOS chip on ebay and replace the board's one.
