will i be able to run amd hd 6950 powercolor 2gb edition on my corsair VS450?
my system specs are as follows:

8gb ddr4 cosrsair vengeance
Ryzen 5 1400
MSI B350M PRO-VDH motherboard
and an old sata 500 gb 5400rpm hdd.

i borrowed it from my friend who used this on his cheap 350w psu. he played heavy games like gta5, assassins creed & crysis 3. im planning to buy a gtx 1060, but for the time being im thinking of using this gpu.

now, many here will say, you should not be running anything on a VS450w power supply, they are low end, cheap, no thrills PSU's

my consideration is power consumption, and your system approximatively will consume;
A Load Wattage: 280W so adding for load percentage I would recommended a PSU minimum wattage of: 325W-450W

Amperage (combined)
+3.3V 2.5 A
+5V 4.0 A
For a total of 29W

+12V 24.4 A
For a total of 293 W

Which puts you in the Range of 80+ bronze PSU like an EVGA 450W B1 Model.
So retuning to the VS450, depending on its power characteristics may or may not handle the load very well of the new card....

But I let you do that research, as in the end it will be your responsibility, if the stress of the new video card will make the PSU falter, die, and take out half of your hardware with it untimely demise.

Sincerely,

I actually dont understand the terms you mentioned above, until i research & study it myself :p but i do have a 450w psu right? so it should be able to handle the gpu. a 550w could've been great, but i just now assembled this pc like 2 months ago and didnt knew what to buy. i also visited a site where i saw a score of 6.4 of how good will this gpu perform on this psu.

In theory, you should be able to.
The VX450 does have the requisite two 6 pin pcie connectors, and the rest of your system is not particularly power hungry.

I would try it. If the power is insufficient, I would expect to see issues such as display artifacts.

VS is similar with two 6 pin pcie connectors.

Corsair is a reputable brand.
It will have sufficient overload protections to keep from damaging anything if it overloads.
Cheap/low quality units skimp on this.

Under heavy load, the cooling fan might spin up and become noisy.
