Gskill TridentZ RGB in ASUS Maximus IX Hero

So I just build my new pc. ASUS Maximus IX Hero, 7700K, 16 gigs of TridentZ RGB ram, Windows 10. Everything is running perfectly. My problem is with the RGB aspect of the ram. BIOS sees the ram as Gskill and spd is enabled. CPUz sees the ram as ddr-4 Gskill. But ASUS Aura or Gskill's own rgb controller do not see the ram for some reason. The Gskill controller says TridentZ is not installed in the system. Aura only shows my motherboard. Speccy shows the ram as unknown but I've had problems with Speccy on Windows 10 before so I'm taking that with a grain of salt. I can't figure it out. I've tried all 4 dimm slots in single channel and dual in all possible ways. All rgb settings in BIOS are on. Anybody have any ideas?
