Hey guys,

I'm running a custom build with a Radeon 7870 and an Acer P236H, connected with a VGA cable and DVI adapter (More specs below). I haven't used this build in about 3 months, and when I powered it back on, I booted into 1600x1200. Nothing above that was available to select. Before I was running 1900x1080 with no issues of this sort.

I've tried:
Re-seating all components
Resetting my monitor's settings
Reinstalling drivers
Replacing the VGA to DVI adapter & Used different VGA cable

After googling it looks like this was a common issue around the era of 7870's, and could be fixed inside Catalyst Control Center, but that doesn't exist anymore, and the new control center has s**t for options. Any help is appreciated!

Windows (64-bit)
i5-3570k 3.40GHz
128GB SSD
2x 1TB 7200RPM HDD
8GB RAM
Radeon 7870 (2GB)
Acer P236H (Monitor)

Unfortunately not, max is 1600x1200.

Funny you mention it though, I played around in that window before I reinstalled the drivers, and there were 1900x1080 options. When I chose any of them, my monitor began to freak out; displaying everything but in a jittery, lightly distorted manner.

Now I'm left with this: https://imgur.com/a/At6pc

I tried installing that driver, but it looks like it's just a color profile. Am I wrong in thinking that?

Solved!

It looks like I had a corrupt EDID, as you said, but the Acer driver didn't do the trick.

I had to download Monitor Asset Manager 2.9: http://www.entechtaiwan.com/util/moninfo.shtm
Then find the profile for my Acer monitor
Create an INF file from the saved EDID
Then manually install the INF through device manager

Hope this helps anyone with a similar problem.
