GTX 1060 6GB
i5 7500
16GB ram 2x8 GB

Some of the games I play are heavy on requirements while others (majority) are light.

Solution
The 1060 should be able to give you "ultra" settings on all your games on 1080p while maintaining > 60 fps
There should be some games it will not be able to maintain > 60 for on 1440p

If you play twitch shooters (or the like); get a 1080p with G-synch monitor as you want all the fps you can squeeze out of it
If you play Civilization (or something where high fps won't give you a tangeable advantage/noticeable stutter); get a 1440p and don't worry about 120 Hz or G-synch
If you are willing to accept playing on non-ultra settings then the 1060 can do >60 fps on medium on 1440p for pretty much everything I guess.

And there is a whole bunch of ground between those options.
If you want more advise you'll have to specify what it is you play...

Oh sorry about that I forgot to give examples.
When I say light games I talk about Gmod and such.
Heavy like GTA and Witcher.
Thx for help.
