Big problem i think with old computer i'm playing round with....

AMD Athlon 64 x2 5200+ ..... 57c,

Gigabyte tech M61SME-s2....... 62c

74GB Western dig WD800AAJS-00PSA0......42c

Im only a beginner, but surely thats not right....room temp is around 28c......i took the sides off, and moved it under a window on its own, but temp only dropped like 2c all round after 2 hours....... does anyone know approx what temps those should be?

....... just turned machine off for an hour, temps rising to same levels right away on restart.... cpu fan is running, seems to be working fine.... the computer itself is working fine too, no crashes or anything....

using speccy to get temp readings....

My case is just standard, taking both sides off did nothing really. Its an old computer I got free recently, running windows xp... can it be just that the thermal paste is that old, and new paste would fix the temps?
