Samsung 940bw Syncmaster brightness(also need help with AMD settings) color temperature

I have a samsung monitor 940bw , it runs great however the button to lower the brightness does nothing but only shut downs my display black screen and then automatically turns on itself in seconds, menu button is works but without decrease button I cannot do anything, is this is a common problem? or its a driver issue? I think I havent installed all necessary drivers for my monitor but to be honest I'm scared if the driver messes up something

ok seems like Windows 10 have a option called "night light" which reduces brightness so my problem solved, but, this can do somehow damage my monitor? like heat or something? My monitor nearly 4+ years old thats why I'm asking

also, screen/color temperature on AMD control panel can help with anything? like reducing heat of my screen because I noticed there's a certain smell coming from my monitor when night light enabled

current temperature is 6500k on amd display settings, should I reduce it?
