How to connect a laptop monitor to another one to a desktop monitor

This may be a weird question, but how does 1 connect a laptop monitor to another laptop to a desktop monitor. Like my problem os that my monitor does not have a hmdi plug in. I want to mirror my laptop on it, but my laptop only has a hdmi port. I have another laptop that has the dvi port that my monotor has. So i was to connect my laptop through my other laptop so I can display it on my monitor. Please help me.

Your making this too complicated then it needs to be. If you want to have laptop image show on monitor but monitor doesnt have hdmi and laptop only has hdmi, then you can get a cable that converts hdmi from laptop output to what ever port the monitor has.

Just get a $5 DVI to HDMI adapter.
