Hello,

I have an external harddisk with many folders in it. one of them I use for backup for different machines ...

Now that I dont have the machines anymore I wanted to delete the files and win10 is not allowing it what soever even in safe mode .

The Security option does not allow me to take full control of the folders as well they are washed out and not selectable.

This harddisk is huge (8 tera) and it is impossible to format it to save space. I must delete the folders and I cant do it.

any help ?

I prefer to simplify matters a bit. You can download the take ownership zip file After you http://www.7-zip.org/download.html run the exe you can then right click any file or folder and take ownership. When you take ownership of a small file or folder you MIGHT notice an odd blip. That's the program applying the commands. Take ownership of a larger file and you will see its progress.
