Asus VG248QE Monitor

I am trying to connect my current laptop which is dell inspiration 7520 SE to Asus VG248QE Monitor with high refresh rate , the only port support in laptop HDMI and VGA port , however the monitor does not support 144 Hz over HDMI unfortunately.

so the question is . which way should i connect my laptop to this monitor to get 144Hz

VGA to DVI-D adapter or HDMI to DVI-D adapter?

VGA to DVI-D adapter or HDMI to DVI-D adapter?

Neither will work, if you don't have DisplayPort or Dual-Link DVI output, there is no way to adapt to either of them from HDMI in a way that will support 144 Hz. You will need another monitor that supports 144 Hz over HDMI.
