Hello everybody!

I want to upgrade my current monitor since there are a few deals on monitors this month, and I had my old monitor since 2014.

This is my current monitor:

I have found great deals for these two monitors:

LG ultrawide - 450 euros
http://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-34UM95C-P-ultrawide-led-monitor

or

LG 4k 16:9 monitor - 400 euros
http://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-27UD58-B-4k-uhd-led-monitor

The ultrawide is currently 40% off and I have noticed that these monitors are generally more expensive than entry level 4k monitors.
I use my pc just for recreation, play games and watch tv shows and a lot of youtube videos. I am thinking that having that extra screen space on the ultrawide will be helpful since the monitor is larger but I'm also concerned that black bars on the sides will bother me when watching tv shows.

Any help is appreciated!

The ultrawide is not a curved display? They work best when curved, as it help focus your eyes towards the centre of the display. I would go with the 4k, as content look better, and will be in a format without black bars on the side.
