Good Day Everyone,

I have been looking at making the transition from Console to PC for ages now and have finally decided to make it happen!

I've mainly been looking at builds with the following rough specs:

- i7 7700k CPU
- 256/512 GB SSD
- 16 GB RAM
- 1-2TB HDD
- MSI GTX 1070 or GTX 1080 (not sure which one)
- Coolmasters Case (maybe)
- Not much idea about CPU cooling and fans etc
- Maybe the z270 / x299 motherboard?

I'd basically like to know if its worth trying to achieve a good and consistent 1440p experience or warrant trying. I'd like to maintain high FPS to play on a 144Hz screen. I do appreciate that the 1080 is better suited to 1440p +, so I can imagine it may just be worth "settling" for a better high FPS (144+) and 1080p experience? I do appreciate how good that really is.

I will mainly be playing OW, and potentially be streaming eventually to. So would appreciate the build being able to handle 144fps whilst streaming on medium to high settings, or even ultra if it a certain build (in my price range) could handle it?

Is 1440p really worth it right now? Should I just dive in to a very solid 1080p experience and eventually upgrade to 4k when its more stable/affordable?

Thank you!

Good. But i would drop down to a 512GB SSD, change the psu to an EVGA GQ 650w (Cheaper and more powerful- but good). I think this will save about £150. With the saving you can get a 1080Ti
