I have a Samsung syncmaster 305t that I've been using with my ThinkPad laptop for a while. It works fine and I can get the full 2560 x 1600 resolution or I can dumb it down to other resolutions without problems. I tried using an adapter to plug my Xbox One into the monitor and can't seem to get it to work. The adapter is a female hdmi to male dvi-d dual link (the same male connection I use for my laptop adapter so I know it's the right connection). The monitor just stays black and the power button blinks.
I've tried plugging my Xbox into my TV so I could change the video settings to different resolutions, dvi output instead of hdmi, auto detect, and pretty much everything else I could think of. I would change one setting, then plug it back into the monitor and so far no luck.
I'm wondering if the native resolution of the monitor simply won't work with the Xbox? But I feel like it should since my laptop can display lower resolutions on the monitor just fine.

I do not think that that the Xbox is compatible with that resolution.

The resolutions the Xbox supports is

720p 60
720p 30
900p 60
1080p 30
1080p 60
4k 30
4k 60 (with up-scaling)

Also, it must be 16:9 aspect ratio
