Hello everyone, i am in search of a new monitor to use for school and to game (have a GTX1080). i was looking at this monitor, and it sounds like a great deal to me, but i havent been catching up with the flow. i know that black friday is just around the corner, is there a possiblity of a cheaper but better monitor for the price? also any opinion on how it would do as a gaming monitor also? im not a crazy a** gamer, just for entertainment. it is 379.99 with a 10% discount to 342.99.

Do you need or even really want 4k? It is going to be a little slow (gaming) on your video card since not even a 1080 can keep up with 4k gaming except in a few select titles. I looked at 4k and 1440p and I could afford either. I bought a 1440p because I found I preferred that resolution.
I bought this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LXPX9I4/
It is on sale for 310. I would not trade it straight across for the Acer.

If I was to get a 4k for entertainment, I would be tempted by this one:

43" 4k Acer for 499. It has a problem with ghosting (don't know if the 32" you're looking at shares this fault). This means ghost images of high contrast stuff like a word document remain somewhat visible in the background after they are closed. This fades over a few minutes. Also movies and fast moving things makes it fade faster.

hmm interesting point. just wanted to update because i already have a 55 inch 4k tv (got last black friday) and it is freaking awesome, especially when i game. i looked at 1440p monitors, and it just did not cut it for me, personally i can notice every single pixel on the screen, thats why 4k is a must for me.

Then get a smaller 1440p (higher DPI) or be prepared to invest a small fortune in video cards.
For my eyes (not as sharp as they once were) this 32" 1440p I am using is perfect. I can (If I lean right up next to the screen) just make out the pixels but from normal viewing distance I can't.
