What graphics card do I need for dual monitors (laptop + 2 externals)?

I'm trying to run an extended display with 2 external monitors. I bought 2 Samsung monitors each with VGA an HDMI inputs. I'm just learning that I most likely need to upgrade my graphics card to make this possible. It's mainly to show multiple excel docs at once so I don't need anything expensive or very powerful. Specs below:

Model: Dell INSPIRON N7110
Processor: Intel Core i5-2430M CPU @ 2.40GHz
Graphics Card: Intel HD Graphics Family
Total Memory: 1696 MB
Version: 8.15.10.2455

Presumably you can run one of them from the HDMI port on the laptop, and to run the other you can get one of these:

I originally hooked up one monitor via VGA and the other with this USB to VGA adapter https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07487VD39/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 with no luck so I just tried using an HDMI cable and it still would only extend to one other monitor. Would this HDMI adapter do the trick or is it essentially what I've already tried doing with the VGA adapter?

Yeah that should have worked, did you make sure the drivers loaded for it?
