4K monitor question

Hello all, I have a question regarding 4k monitors. Currently enjoy competitive fps games and love my 1920/1080 BENQ at 120hz. I would like to start experiencing 4k aswell but dont want to give up the 120hz and 1920 display. How do 4k montors work? Do they go to 120hz? Can they switch to 1920 and 120hz? Is the refesh rate limites at 4k? Any help is appreciated ty.

No, they max at 60 Hz, you can't raise the refresh rate by lowering the resolution.
