Remove cortana and restore search bar

I thought that I had windows update shut off, but yesterday my win 10 updated. I have gotten everything working again but:

How can I get rid of this cortana stuff.

How can I get the search bar back ?

How can I permanently prevent Windows updates, I have win10/ 64 pro

Nothing wrong with giving that a try, just follow the directions exactly as written. And as always be careful when editing the registry,
