Chrome start-ups is annoying

Hi,

Recently my google chrome automatically pops-up after restarting or turning on after a shut down. Ive tried many options to prevent this such as; task manager and disabling chrome in startup, tried using auto run.exe (link: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns) and using run-"regedit" or "msconfig".

Is this part of the Windows creator update or would I have some sort of virus?

Do you close it when shutting PC down? If not, its a new wonderful feature of win 10 where it opens everything that was open when you closed PC.

I turned fast startup off thinking it would stop it but it continues.

I didn't notice at first as I always close my programs down before turning PC off, its just a habit.

Yeah i heard about that but yes, i do close chrome before shutdown

Curious, have you tried a clean boot as it seems odd its chosen chrome - https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows (careful - read line about hiding microsoft services before removing services from start up or windows won't boot right)

Tried running anti virus or malware scans? just to be safe.

Do you have any anti virus software suggestions? my norton subscription ended
