Monitor - Weird Backlight Issue / Dark Shadow

Hello!

I am having a minor issue with my monitor. It seems like a lighting issue. It only affects a small section of the screen as seen in the photo below. There is a shadowed area where there is very little lighting coverage on the screen relative to the surrounding screen. Every now and then, with a touch of luck, I can recover the backlight by flicking the monitor off and on repeatedly -- this is starting to get inconvenient!

Is this something worth fixing, or should I just donate it and replace?

out of warranty i guess? if this is covered by it. have you asked how much it would be to fix?
if its more than £100 ($130), might as well get a new one.
