144hz monitor causes frame drops in CSGO

I recently purchased an Asus vg248qe. Since then I can’t get more than 100fps I’m csgo and I’m getting a lot of frame drops. Every other game I play is fine(overwatch, fortnight, etc.) but csgo is unbearable. My previous monitor was also a 1080p monitor but was only 60hz as opposed to the current 144hz.

My current rig:
CPU: ryzen 7 1700x
GPU: evga gtx 1070 ftw
RAM: Corsair vengeance 2x8gb
PSU: Corsair rm750x
