Hi Guys,

I just received my ASUS VG248QE monitor which is supposed to support 144hz. However, in the windows display settings I am capped at 60hz?

I look online and it says, try it on Nvidia Control Panel...its the same deal, I only get 60hz on it. And then I tried customizing my display options and increasing the hz value from 60 to 70 as a test, my screen goes black and says "no signal".

This is really frustrating as I've been waiting all week for this monitor to finally test 144hz :(. I am using a DVI to DisplayPort cable also.

Anyone know what this issue could possibly be? Literally trying everything I can see based on online forums and it isnt working.

Thanks

Your monitor has both a DVI & a DisplayPort connector on the back, so there is zero need to use a DP-to-DVI adapter. Just use a standard DisplayPort or DVI-D Dual-link cable (note that the monitor included the latter). This is also listed on their Overview page (https://www.asus.com/us/Monitors/VG248QE/overview/).

2) Also according to that note, you have to have an nVidia GPU (apparently it doesn't work with an...

My graphics card is a 1080ti. My cable is a DVI to Display Port, I assumed anything with a display port was capable of 144hz  I will find out the model in a sec and get back to you
