New build monitor says no signal but it works fine on tv or other monitors

Ok so I built and gaming pc yesterday. It was my first ever build so I thought it wasn't gonna work but it did. When my computer turns on and I connect to a brand new 24 inch led monitor from Wal-Mart it said no signal. That got me opening up my pc and taking things a part and trying to find the problem so after a while I decided to connect it do my tv and it worked just fine everything that's supposed to be showing up for a new build showed up. I tried on a different monitor and it worked fine. Do I have to install Windows 10 and the drivers so the monitor might work with the pc or is it just the monitor that's not working any advice would be great thanks
