Hi so i've done a fair bit of research into the parts for my first attempt at building a PC. I'm not planning on using it for anything intensive - some web browsing, maybe a bit of gaming (but VERY old games (think games like rome total war - so not intensive).

Here is what i've gone for: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/td731/saved/JcjbjX

Please can you let me know if it will all work together and also if there are any amendments you would make? I'm trying to keep costs low as possible so any cheaper but still good varieties would be welcome!

Thanks in advance :)

So the RAM on the list wouldn't be compatible?

At about £50 over budget I hope you will forgive me and know that the changes made are certainly helpful and made knowing you're not a hardcore gamer.

2x4GB RAM? I have been well exceeding 4GB RAM. With Rome: Total War the 4560 can use its integrated GPU(graphics card) but then it needs to borrow system RAM because the CPU obviously doesn't have any RAM of its own. 4GB RAM is so last decade. 10 really needs no less than 2GB of RAM but 4GB is recommended. Then we add in some light gaming.

I dumped the cooler you added. The cooler included with the 4560 will work just fine.

I added a 1030. That is a VERY low end GPU but it is more powerful than the 4560's GPU. It also comes with 2GB of onboard RAM so it won't borrow any system RAM.

I also added an optical drive so that you can use that OS disk.

Thank you @aquielisunari! Sorry again, the power supply is also out of stock, any other suggestions as the power supply is something im not sure on and dont want to choose an unsafe one!

You're welcome:D To be frank the 430W EVGA PSU isn't exactly a beloved PSU. Nor is my EVGA 500W PSU a popular choice. It has been serving me well for years.

Thanks again :) Ive ordered most of the stuff now - just a bit confused about a few things:

CPU: Intel - Pentium G4560 3.5GHz Dual-Core Processor (£64.79 @ Aria PC) ORDERED

Motherboard: MSI - B250M PRO-VDH Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (£57.98 @ Ebuyer) ORDERED

Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws 4 series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Memory (£59.30 @ Amazon UK) Its currently over £100 on amazon which is way out of my budget

Storage: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£38.34 @ Aria PC) - Is this HDD, I read that SDD or hybrids are a lot better?

Video Card: Asus - GeForce GT 1030 2GB Phoenix Fan OC Video Card (£54.92 @ Ebuyer) - I may hold off on this for now and buy at a later time

Case: Deepcool - TESSERACT SW ATX Mid Tower Case (£37.00 @ Ebuyer) ORDERED

Power Supply: Corsair - CXM 550W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply (£71.79 @ Alza) - Im concerned about this as its an EU plug and I need a UK plug so think ill have so go for another one

Optical Drive: Lite-On - iHAS124-14 DVD/CD Writer (£10.50 @ Aria PC) ORDERED

Operating System: Microsoft - Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit (£84.42 @ Aria PC) ORDERED

Just want to check that it will all fit in the case before I order anything else? Sorry if i sound like an idiot, im new to this stuff :D

Also ive finally decided on a max budget of £500 but obviously would prefer it to be lower!

Let's try something different. What about only buying 4GB of RAM? Could you then be able to afford the 1030? Like I said the GFX card alleviates the CPU integrated GPU's dependency on RAM. With the card in place 8GB isn't really necessary.

Contact EVGA or Corsair and they will address your concerns.

Yes I could do that, Ive had a look and the ASUS 1030 is also out of stock (not having much luck am I :') ) so I think i'll go for the Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 Low Profile 2G GDDR5 64 Bit Memory PCI Express Graphics Card - Black (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0719CR59P/?tag=pcp0f-21) if thats any good?

I'd pick https://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-NVIDIA-GeForce-Express-Graphics/dp/B072BQ2JGS instead. Why? Low profile. See how the other card has that feature? The case you have isn't made for a LP or low profile card. Low profile cards many times come with adapters so they can fit in a regular case but usually isn't a word I like.

Make sure you KNOW about your warranty responsibilities. Some need you to register the product in under 14 days(EVGA) for the manufacturer's warranty to be valid. Others have different conditions. You need to be prepared for that which shouldn't happen but rarely does and if it does I don't want you to be up that brown creek and lost.
