Is this possible?
Also as a second question, im a noob to dual monitor how would I set these up. Both to two separate HDMIS? What do I do after that if it is correct.

Solution
yea just run your 1080 off the hdmi port on your gpu and your 1440 off of your DP port. windows will show you the rest. What I think you are actually asking is will your 144 panel run at 144 if both are plugged in? The answer is it depends on your GPU they are seperated and identified as two seperate monitors so the GPU will drive them each as they are specced on the monitors side. But can your GPU drive both monitors? We dont know you havent told us what GPU you have.

I have a 1080 and a 1440. They are working OK with Windows 7 EXCEPT that the background for the 1440 monitor (same scene as the 1080) does not fill the screen.

To clarify, I am using two extended displays, but the 1440 has black around the background photo.

What to do?
