I'm new to PC so im not quite understanding this setup. I bought an Asus mg248 monitor for gaming, as i'd heard 144hz is better. However when i looked at the resolution settings in the NVIDIA control panel I found the monitor was set to 1080p, 1920x1080 (native) under ultra hd, hd, sd. but only at 60hz. To get 144hz I have to select under PC 1920x1080. which is the better setting for gaming? any help or wisdom would be appreciated.
Also, my graphics card is the gtx1070.

Use the 144 Hz setting, the HD/PC sections aren't any different, it's just the way they're organized.
