Notifcation counter shows notification in error

My notification counter is showing 1 notification, but when I click or mouse over the area, there is nothing new.

Logging out and back in had no effect.

Go to your tracked threads and choose mark all as read and this will remove the ghost notification.

did a search didn't find the answer, keywords are too generic I guess.
