So I noticed that there was a BIOS update on my laptop and thought I'd update it. After flashing, the laptop was no longer booting in the OS and was simply launching the BIOS every time I turned it on. In the BIOS, when I select boot options, it states that there are no bootable devices but it detects my SSD. I tried reverting back to the old BIOS firmware but no luck. My laptop is an Asus F556UAK

Is there a drive choice in Boot order called UEFI with your boot drives name listed after it?
Does boot order have a choice called Windows Boot Manager? If so, make it first and see if PC boots
Does the bios have something called CSM in the boot menu? Is it set to auto or another setting?

it could be the bios is booting in Legacy mode when hdd is set up as UEFI or it could be the opposite, booting in UEFI when hdd is Legacy, and in either case it won't find the hdd as its looking for boot details in the wrong place

knowing what CSM is set to will help, changing its setting might be all you need to do to boot.

Updating BIOS when you don't have any problems isn't a good idea. It can cause problems, especially if flash fails, you can...

It's weird but I don't even have access to CSM settings (It's greyed out). Here is the picture that I took of the page that I have: https://ibb.co/eM7oN6

Also, another picture to show you that my BIOS is detecting my SSD but not considering it as a boot drive (when I press F8): https://ibb.co/b6fxFR

Edit: I disabled secure boot and it allowed me to enable CSM settings. Which then allowed me to boot in my SSD and Windows. Problem solved, thanks!
