Is there any point in upgrading to 1Gbps adapters&Cat7 if i only get 17Mbps

My broadband is terrible at maximum 17Mbps and i was wondering if there would be any point in getting cat7 cables and 1Gbps adapters if i will never get that high and if it will improve my download speed at all(Im in a bad broadband area so everything takes forever to install and i cant upgrade due to my area) thanks

it will improve the "in house" transfer speed. for example if you have a file/backup server.

Do you mean 1g or 10g. You can use cat5e on 1g ports. You would use cat6a if you had 10g ports. Cat7 has no real benefit over cat6a.

The cable does not control the speed the ports do. If you use cat7 cable in 1g ports it still only runs at 1g.
