Tv not outputting sound to headhones

I have just purchased a tv a Bluetooth transmitter and a pair of wireless headphones. However the tv isn't outputting sounds through the audio cables I have hooked up. I have tested to make sure everything else works and have tried hooking up headphones straight to the tv and still nothing. i have made sure to switch it to external speakers no the tv. I am using the audio cables that came with the transmitter

You need an amplifier. Your TV does not have a headphone output. Preferably something like a stereo receiver. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071H34PWH/ref=psdc_13880161_t2_B003M8NVFS

First I would test your bluetooth transmitter and headphones with your computer to make sure they are working.

I ended up plugging the bluetooth transmitter into the back of the cable box and that worked fine.
