I recently decided to update my windows 7 home pro to windows 10 which took about 3 tries until i successfully installed it. However, it is now asking for an activation key, there is one on the back of my aurora r3 but it does not seem to work, I also have the windows disc but have no idea how to get the product key from it, if anyone could help me id be very grateful!

As far as I know, the time for the free update from Windows 7 to Windows 10 is expired.
The Windows 7 key will not work on Windows 10 and once you update Microsoft changes your W7 key to a new W10 number.
It's not easy but there are tools to extract the new Windows 10 key after it has been activated.

Do you have a Windows 10 disc? If you bought it legitimately you should have the serial number.
It sounds like you need a new key.
