Games not showing 144hz option with 144hz monitor

Hi there, I purchased a Zowie XL2730 monitor and have been having trouble achieving 144hz. I have had to create a custom resolution on the NVIDA ControlPanel but doesnt show the 144hz option on games I play. If anyone could help me that would be fantastic, thanks.

I am using DVI
