So i just got my laptop and it came with Endless Os on it, no problem I installed Windows 10, but I am having problem after problem I am getting sick of it already.

First of I get BSOD's telling me to search for driver power state failure, still can't get over them i tried every thing I found on google, Power management, driver updates and rollbacks, even reinstalled the windows a few times. It seems to happen more often while it is plugged in.

For a while (5 - 6 hours) I thought that i got rid of the BOSD's but then i couldn't install any net.framework on it or DirectX, games would not even want to start (Rocket League, Warframe).

Now I am back at square one, still getting BSOD's but the games work (tho in lower res not 1900 - 1080 the standard) only for a few minutes tho until it crashes with a beautiful Blue Screen.

I need some help any ideas that may work, if needed I can give more info.

Thank you.

Can you follow option one here
and then do this step below: Small memory dumps - Have Windows Create a Small Memory Dump (Minidump) on BSOD

that creates a file in c windows/minidump after the next BSOD
copy that file to documents
upload the copy from documents to a cloud server and share the link here and someone with right software to read them will help you fix it :)

Have you got the latest BIOS? Current version is version 203 from 27th November 2017
Did you load drivers from Asus web site? none of them appear old enough to cause that error

Welp the BIOS update did it I hope, at least in the last few hours i haven't gotten any BSOD, oh and the version of BIOS seems to be 304 the last one, anyway this is the only thing I didn't update form their website, big mistake xD.

I did set up an small memory dump to happen if I get an BSOD, I will post it here :)

Thank you, as usual this website helped me find a fix. Keep it up and Happy New Year!

Hi, WeTransfer isn't a problem. I ran the dump file through the debugger and got the following information: https://pste.eu/p/iscN.html

File: 010118-5234-01.dmp (Jan 1 2018 - 04:47:31)
BugCheck: [DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (9F)]
Probably caused by: pci.sys (Process: System)
Uptime: 0 Day(s), 20 Hour(s), 40 Min(s), and 58 Sec(s)

The overclocking driver "IOCBios2.sys" was found on your system. Remove the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility which installs this file while we are trying to fix your BSOD problems. Remove all overclocks.

I can't help you with this. Wait for additional replies. Good luck.

Okay so I managed to delete it, couldn't find an uninstaller anywhere on the laptop but I used RevoUninstaler idk how good it is but got rid of everything that had something to do with it, and I can't see it in task manager anymore.

I will update if the problem occurs anymore but since i posted it didn't happen.

Thanks for taking time to look into it.

the thing that crashed then was the Nvidia driver. I wonder if Nvidia have a bad driver again, as I seen a few people with that driver version having BSOD.

Did you get the current driver directly from Nvidia (since you have December driver, that would be my guess). Try this and instead of getting driver from Nvidia after removing current one, try running windows update and let PC find card: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2767677/perform-clean-install-video-card-drivers.html

See if there is a newer version of scarlet crush if the BSOD continue, as its normally an old driver that doesn't like Win 10 new power plans that cause these errors.

I have the same laptop and struggled a lot with this thing, and the problem happens to be on 1709 MS Update.
To get rid of BSOD's You need to change power management mode in nVidia driver to 'Maximum performance' in global settings. And Prefered Graphics Adapter to nVidia.

It helped me with BSOD's

EDIT: It's explained in more detail here: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-3554476/bsod-driver-power-state-failure-asus-gl553ve.html
