I reset windows and lost everything, how can I go back to a previous version?

My computer was turning on but not displaying on my monitor, I changed HDMI Cables and it said that I had to reinstall windows, so not paying attention I did and it reset and I lost everything. I used a recovery tool to get files but I’m wondering if I can completely go back to how my PC was before.

long shot but check to see if you have a system restore prior to the reset.(the reset likely wiped these out)

What said you had to re-install Windows?

As to the question, look in Settings > Update and Security > Recovery. There may be an option to revert to previous version of Windows. If not, you're probably stuck.
