External hdd partition bootable windows?

appy New Year to you all!

I formatted my external drive and made 2 partitions:

1. 5Gbs, Active, Primary ( for win7 )
2. Rest for the data. Active, Primary.

The question is : How can i make that first partition bootable with win7 in it. Tried Rufus/ ISO to USB / YUMI. None of these softwares made the partition bootable from bios part.

1. No, you can't boot from an external HDD. Windows does not work like that.
2. 5GB for the OS partition? Far, far too small, on any drive.
