So, I ordered a GTX 1050 Ti, which arrived yesterday, I Installed it in my PC only to find out the adapter I was using for my previous card (660 Ti) was a "DVI-I to VGA." The GTX 1050 Ti did not have DVI-I, It had DVI-D.

So I ran to best buy later that day and Picked up a "HDMI to VGA" adapter, when I got back home I used it with the GTX 1050 Ti, No signal. (The Card Works, The fans spin, The Led and lights come on.) Then I swapped out the 1050 Ti for my 660 Ti, And I was getting a signal, So I'm Confused.

Specs:
i5-3570k @ 3.6GHz
GTX 660 Ti
8GB Ram
500GB (HDD1)
1TB (HDD2)
EVGA 600BQ PSU

Solution
DVI-I to VGA is just a passthrough; the DVI-I provides an analog signal and connects it to a VGA output port. HDMI to VGA has to be active, as there is no analog signal in HDMI. If I had to guess, I would suspect the quality of the converter. It is, of course, possible that your new card isn't working or doesn't have proper drivers. The only thing that we know is working is the monitor.

In that situation, I would wander over to the home of a friend who has a video card with HDMI output and a monitor with VGA input and test the adapter. Or bring your monitor with you if friend does not have a VGA monitor. You have two unknowns and need to eliminate one of them. Sorry that I can't be more specific.

EDIT: I just read a couple of...
IMHO, if you buy a good video card you should not hamper it by converting and connecting to a VGA monitor. You lose framerate and quality; no point in buying the good card. I would strongly suggest that you get a digital monitor.

Unless, of course, you are using this for (shudder) mining.

EDIT: I just read a couple of articles that state that HDMI to VGA is also passive, and depends on the HDMI port supplying an analog signal. HDMI ports are not required to provide analog signals, so if this is true it's kind of catch-as-can. Perhaps you should swap the card for one with DVI-I output?

Solution
The gtx 10** series cards have absolutely no analog signal out whatsoever .

You must buy an active hdmi to vga converter , the dvi one you had is simlly a passthrough adapter , the hdmi one you bought , you would think at $30 it would be an active converter but looking through the reviews there is limited success with using it .

Return it , Id consider it unfit for purpose .

The $25 startech one 'should' work.
